Jamaica has lost a great person this week. Rex Nettleford died at Washington, D.C. hospital. He was an oustanding humanitarian who served as a vice chancellor at the University of the West Indies, he also was a cultural advisior to Prime Minster Bruce Golding.
Fromer Prime Minster PJ Patterson describes Mr. Nettleford as " a unique soul with a brilliant mind and an unparalleled commitment to Jamaica and the Caribbean."
Many persons can and will describe Mr. Nettleford as a great person and a valueable person to the Carribean.
Rex Nettleford died after suffering a heart attack while on a fundraising trip for UWI.
He will be deeply missed.
